Was ist neu in 1.4.4?

Neue Features:

  • Neuer Schalter NO_SESSION_COOKIE (siehe dazu weiter unten)

  • Neuer Schalter USE_MYSQL_STRICT (siehe dazu weiter unten)

  • Neuer Schalter USE_DOCTRINE (siehe dazu weiter unten)

Aktualisierungen:

  • News with Images auf Version 5.0.3 aktualisiert (sofern in Verwendung, bitte Blog Menu auf Version 0.2 updaten => AOR)

  • CKEditor 4.14.1

  • Sitemap 4.0.9

  • Übersetzungen aktualisiert/ergänzt (PT)

  • Optimierung der Reihenfolge der Outputfilter-Ausführung

Fehlerkorrekturen:

  • jquery-include.js wird wieder geladen (kein "include is not defined"-Fehler mehr)

define('NO_SESSION_COOKIE',true);

** Wie unschwer zu erkennen, richten sich diese Schalter an Entwickler:innen bzw. fortgeschrittene Administrator:innen, normale Nutzer:innen brauchen sich darum noch nicht zu kümmern (und müssen auch nicht verstehen, was es damit nun genau auf sich hat ;-)). Allerdings wird aufgrund der steigenden Anforderungen seitens MySQL 8 / MariaDB / PHP die MySQL-Strict-Unterstützung und Doctrine als Abstraktionsebene mit dem kommenden Major Release (1.5 oder 2.0, Termin steht noch nicht fest) als Standard gesetzt werden.

define('SM2_CORRECT_MENU_LINKS',true);

define('MENU_LINK_TRANSFORMER',true);

EN

WBCE 1.4.4 RC1 * is now available as an installation / upgrade package on GitHub.

* Release candidate means: The version should not yet be used productively. However, it is important and helpful for us and the further development and troubleshooting to have as many test results as possible from different previous versions / server environments, so anyone who has the opportunity to carry out an installation / update on a test system is very welcome to do so to do and post results / questions here in the forum.

What's new in 1.4.4?

As usual, in this version not only were some bugs fixed, but also new features were added and libraries and modules updated.

New features:

  • New switch NO_SESSION_COOKIE (see further below)

  • New switch USE_MYSQL_STRICT (see further below)

  • New USE_DOCTRINE switch (see below)

  • Time zone handling: change from GMT to UTC

  • In the future, a notification will appear in the dashboard when there is a new WBCE version

  • Backend form for creating new accounts is now more user-friendly

  • The allowed characters and the minimum length are now displayed for password input fields

  • It is now also possible to create user accounts with email addresses with new / long TLDs (example@example.something)

  • Core patch for template switcher integrated, if necessary, only the snippet needs to be installed

Updates:

  • News with Images updated to version 5.0.3 (if in use, please update blog menu to version 0.2 => AOR)

  • CKEditor 4.14.1

  • Sitemap 4.0.9

  • Translations updated / supplemented (PT)

  • Optimization of the order of the output filter execution

Bug fixes:

  • Fixed handling of standard and user time zones; In the course of an upgrade, the time zone is reset to the standard value for all users, but can then be individually set again and is now correctly calculated throughout

  • Fixed problems with changing personal data in the frontend form

  • jquery-include.js is loaded again (no more "include is not defined" error)

  • Changing the advanced basic settings by non-Superadmin no longer leads to a reset of the file / directory rights

  • Switch SM2_CORRECT_MENU_LINKS no longer leads to loss of performance

  • Various other optimizations

-

Compatibility / system requirements
  • WBCE CMS 1.4.4 is released for PHP 7.1 to PHP 7.4. PHP versions below or above are not supported.

-

The new switches

The following features can be activated by making additional entries in config.php:

define ('NO_SESSION_COOKIE', true)
If this entry is available, a frontend session cookie is no longer set. Logging on to the backend and working with WBCE via the backend is possible as usual, but the following restrictions apply in the frontend:

  • Front-end registration and front-end login not possible

  • Forms cannot use any of the built-in captcha mechanisms

  • Service mode bypass not possible for administrators

Conversely, this also means: For sites on which these features are not required anyway, the setting of the cookie, which is not so popular with some users, can be prevented easily, so that – unless other cookies are set – possibly a cookie consent can be waived.

define ('USE_MYSQL_STRICT', true);**
If this entry is available, the core-side workaround to circumvent MySQL strict restrictions is deactivated. This switch is primarily intended to test the compatibility of the modules used with MySQL-Strict.

define ('USE_DOCTRINE', true);**
If this entry is available, communication between WBCE and the database takes place via Doctrine as an abstraction level. This switch is primarily intended to check whether the server-side requirements for this are met and whether the modules used can cope with it.

** As you can easily see, these switches are aimed at developers and advanced administrators, normal users don't have to worry about it (and don't have to understand what it is all about ;-)) . However, due to the increasing requirements on the part of MySQL 8 / MariaDB / PHP, MySQL-Strict support and Doctrine as an abstraction level will be set as standard with the upcoming major release (1.5 or 2.0, date has not yet been fixed).

define ('SM2_CORRECT_MENU_LINKS', true);
If this switch is set, the actual destination URLs are displayed in the navigation and now in the sitemap generated with the sitemap module for entries of the menu link type, not the link to the respective access files.

define ('MENU_LINK_TRANSFORMER', true);
With the switch set, pages can be converted to menu links by deleting all sections and then adding a menu link section via the "Manage sections" view. Menu links can also be converted to normal pages (WYSIWYG etc.) by deleting the menu link section in the "Manage sections" view.

Many thanks to all contributors of this version, specially to colinax, bernd, webbird, stefanek und freesbee.

New installation (as usual)
  1. Download Installer* and unzip it locally

  2. Copy all contents of the folder "wbce" (but usually not the folder itself) into the folder on your server where WBCE CMS should be installed (usually the root directory, which is called www, httpdocs or sth. like this) -  or do it this way

  3. Point your browser to the URL where WBCE CMS should be installed

  4. The installer starts automatically, please fill in all fields

  5. Click on "Install WBCE CMS"

  6. Log in and start working

Updating
  1. Backup your files on the server - IMPORTANT

  2. Create a database backup (dump / export, f. ex. using mit PhpMyAdmin or Adminer) - IMPORTANT

  3. Download installation package and unzip it locally

  4. Copy the contents of the folder completely* (e.g. /install too) without config.php.new and maybe favicon.ico into the folder of the WBCE CMS installation you want to update on the server  (or do it this way). Please note: If you have renamed the admin directory on the server, you have to change the directory name in the upload package accordingly before copying the files onto the server
*Please keep in mind that during the update all core files will be overwritten. So do not forget to remove the directories templates/WBCEZon or templates/WBCETik from the local installation package before uploading it, if you have applied individual changes to one of these templates on your server, otherwise these changes will be lost.

  5. Call  the update script by pointing your browser to the URL of the website which should be updated with added install/update.php (yourdomain.tld/install/update.php). Read the advices, check the checkbox and start the update script.

  6. If necessary, rollback unwanted changes on templates or modules by backcopying the corresponding single files from the local backup (->frontend.js/css)

  7. Log-In to the Backend

  8. If necessary, remove not used modules and templates via Add-Ons > Modules / add-Ons > Templates

The update script can be used to update all prior versions of WBCE (and possibly WB up to 2.8.3 SPxx - for migratins from newer WB versions please contact us) directly to WBCE CMS 1.4.4.
