NIA - News with Image Anywhere show posts published from certain years

I am trying to wrap my head around a way to include NIA from within the WYSIWYG window of each item in a OFA OneForAll section.  I know you can implement NIA via Droplet.  But what I need is a way to only show news posts from a certain Group, from between a certain published when date to another published when date.

Essentially, after each year, all the posts from that year for each group need to be archived to their own archive pages.

Football Archive OFA Page:
2018 Football OFA Item - Droplet to show only Group 2018 Football news posts from Jan 1, 2018 to Dec 31, 2018
2019 Football OFA Item - Droplet to show only Group 2019 Football news posts from Jan 1, 2019 to Dec 31, 2019

Tennis Archive OFA Page
2018 Tennis OFA Item - Droplet to show only Group 2018 Tennis  news posts from Jan 1, 2018 to Dec 31, 2018
2019 Tennis OFA Item - Droplet to show only Group 2019 Tennis  news posts from Jan 1, 2019 to Dec 31, 2019

Is this possible with NIA in a droplet?

I am trying to avoid having to create a separate OFA section on it's own page for each of the archived years.  Then having an NWI section on each of these pages, then moving each year's news posts over after each year ends.

I hope this makes sense.

Unfortunately it's not possible to show NWI posts only from a certain period of time. According to your description, it should work with group filtering anyway, e.g. if Football 2018 has the group ID 234 , just call the droplet with the paramet ?group_id=234
